She stripped down to nude latex lingerie and rubbed up against Robin Thicke in one of the most controversial MTV VMA performances ever on Sunday night.
But Miley Cyrus was suddenly shy when she stepped out the following day on Monday.
The 20-year-old was covered up and kept her head down as she headed to a work appointment in New York.

The singer wore a black hooded top and shorts, a much more demure ensemble than the flesh two-piece she had cavorted around in on national television the night before.
She was also checking her phone, no doubt glued to the furore on news and social media websites surrounding her risque performance of Blurred Lines alongside Thicke.
No doubt she was getting ready to strip down yet again however, as she was heading into a studio in Brooklyn to shoot a music video.

And it wasn't too long before Miley was at it again with her risque antics, tweeting a picture of herself in another very racy two-piece ensemble.

In the snap, Miley is seen crouching down, sticking out her derriere and running her fingers through her hair as she modelled a red, white and black Michael Jordan Chicago Bulls basketball theme crop top and hot pants set.
Since Sunday night's performance, a host of celebrities have spoken out, with Jaime King and Brooklyn Decker taking to Twitter to slam the young starlet.
Brooklyn wrote, ‘I’m so uncomfortable’, while Jamie added ‘A certain mortification swells over me when I watch certain performers.’

English singer and actress Minnie Driver tweeted: '@vma Miley Cyrus needs an early night.'
Mariah Carey's husband, America's Got Talent host Nick Cannon, channelled Howard Stern when he tweeted, 'Remind me to never let my kids into showbiz... thanks.'

Miley remained relatively silent since her racy rendition, but on Monday afternoon she tweeted some positive reviews of her performance from Rolling Stone.

First she tweeted: "Miley was the one star in the room who truly understood what the MTV Video Music Awards are all about!" - Rolling Stone, before later writing: "Miley stole the night, which is why the nation is still in recovery today. Thanks, Miley..." - Rolling Stone.
Earlier she also retweeted rapper Trinidad Jame$ tweet, 'Miley is turnt! My ni***,' before later boasting about the number of tweets her show generated.
'Smilers! My VMA performance had 306.000 tweets per minute.  That's more than the blackout or Superbowl!  #fact.'
